Rack privacy policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

Summary

Rack is an Android app made by JXNify that connects to your own servers over SSH. Rack has no user accounts, contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs, and JXNify does not run any servers that receive your data.

Data stored on your device

Server names, addresses, ports, user names, passwords and private keys you add are stored only on your device. Passwords and keys are encrypted with a key held in the Android Keystore.

Quick actions, templates, settings and cached server status are stored on your device.

Rack keeps a local diagnostics log in its app storage. It can contain technical details such as host names, user names and the commands you run, but never passwords or keys. It stays on your device unless you export it yourself.

Android cloud backup is disabled for Rack, so this data is not copied to Google Drive.

Connections to your servers

When you use Rack, it connects directly from your device to the servers you configured and runs commands there. This traffic is encrypted by SSH and does not pass through JXNify.

Purchases

Rack Pro is sold through Google Play. Payments are processed by Google; JXNify does not receive your payment details. The app receives a purchase confirmation from Google Play to unlock Pro features. The Google Play Billing library may send diagnostic information to Google under Google's privacy policy.

Notifications and background checks

If you enable alerts, Rack periodically connects to your servers in the background and shows local notifications. No notification data is sent to JXNify or third parties.

Backups

Encrypted backups are created only when you choose to, and saved to a location you pick. They are encrypted with a passphrase you set; Rack does not store that passphrase.

Sharing and selling

JXNify does not collect, sell or share personal data from Rack.

Deleting your data

Delete a server in the app to remove its data, or uninstall Rack or clear its storage in Android settings to remove everything.

Children

Rack is a tool for system administrators and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
